About Me
Welcome to my website, where I share a selection of photographs that reflect both my interests and my journey.
I was born in Birmingham and moved to Essex in 1970. I now live in Southend-on-Sea, a place that continues to inspire me with its coastline, changing light, and everyday moments. My professional background is in building surveying, a career that sharpened my eye for structure, detail, and form — qualities that naturally found their way into my photography.
Photography has been a long-time passion of mine, pursued alongside work and life’s many commitments. I enjoy capturing a wide range of subjects, from architecture and transport to landscapes, seascapes, people, nature, and pets. Much of my work has been taken “on the run” — spontaneous moments seized whenever time allowed.
Having recently retired at the age of 75, I now look forward to slowing down and spending more time with my camera, taking a more considered and reflective approach to my photography. This website showcases a selection of my favourite images, chosen simply because they mean something to me.
I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed creating them. I welcome thoughtful criticism just as much as appreciation, as both help me continue to learn and grow. This website will evolve over time, but its purpose will remain the same — to share images for you to enjoy.
